Why I Deleted My Social Media Apps and Built My Own Author Platform
I deleted Facebook and Instagram from my phone. No more noise, no more distractions. It’s time to focus on what matters — my degree, my writing, and finishing my next book. If anyone wants to reach me, they can find me right here, on my official author website.
I’ve deleted Facebook and Instagram from my phone. No more scrolling, no more distractions
It’s time to focus on what matters — my writing, my university work, and finishing my next book.
Social media became a distraction, a constant tug away from what I love doing most: telling stories that hit hard and stay honest.
That’s where everything lives now: my blog, my books, and my contact page. Real connection — without the clutter.
Building My Author Website from the Ground Up
When I first started building my author website back in May 2025, I wanted something real. No gimmicks, no gloss — just a space that sounded like me and looked clean. i
Then I found Author Websites by BookBub, and it made sense.
No coding, no confusion, no wasted time — just proper tools made for writers. In half an hour, I had a site that looked sharp, easy to use, and true to my voice. I uploaded my book, my bio, and my blog, all linked together so readers could find everything in one place.
That’s what I wanted.
Since then, I’ve been posting every couple of days — flash fiction, real-life stories, bits of reflection from the road, and updates on my writing life.
If you’re an author thinking about creating your own platform, here’s what I’ve learned:
Keep it simple. Don’t overcrowd it. Let your writing breathe.
Be yourself. Readers connect to truth, not polish.
Post regularly. Every few days if you can — it builds trust and rhythm.
Add your book links. Make it easy for people to read and follow your work.
Stay consistent. Like laying bricks — one by one, steady and solid.
From Brick Dust to Blog Posts
I started small, but now my site’s growing one reader at a time.
If you want to follow my journey — from Warrington to London, from hard graft to published author — it’s all here on my website.
Follow my blog for new stories every few days — straight from life.
