I'VE BEEN INVITED TO REHEARSALS ON WEDNESDAY

     The Gwalia Male Choir

        'The Welsh Male Choir '

Cor Meibion Gwalia
A welcoming Welsh male voice choir based in London since 1967.

We began as a breakaway group from the London Welsh Choir. Since then, men from the Welsh community and far beyond have joined us. If you love to sing and enjoy good company, you will fit right in.

What We Sing
Our repertoire moves across styles and moods.

• Traditional Welsh hymns
• Folk tunes
• Opera choruses
• Spirituals
• Pop songs
• Broadway favourites

One night you might hear harmony rooted in the valleys. The next, something lighter with a swing.

Where We Perform
We sing wherever people gather.

• Public concerts
• Cabarets
• Weddings
• Private functions
• Cathedrals
• Concert halls
• Churches
• Hotels
• Clubs
• Offices
• Village halls

Across the UK, from grand stages to local rooms packed tight with friends and family.

We have also recorded for radio and television, appeared in commercials, and toured across Europe.

Highlights
Over the years we have:

• Won prizes at the Royal National Eisteddfod of Wales and the Llangollen International Eisteddfod
• Performed at the Royal Festival Hall, Royal Albert Hall, St James’s Palace, and Cardiff’s rugby stadium
• Taken part in the London 2012 Olympics Closing Ceremony
• Been invited by HM Government to sing at the VJ Day 70th Anniversary Drumhead Service on Horse Guards Parade
• Toured Austria, Belgium, Czechoslovakia, Northern Italy, Germany, Holland, Ireland, Switzerland, and Northern France for the Somme centenary

Moments that stay with you.

Rehearsals
Every Wednesday
7.00 pm to 9.00 pm

London Welsh Centre
157 Gray’s Inn Road
London WC1X 8UE

Visitors and potential new members are always welcome.

After rehearsal, we head upstairs. A friendly pint or two. Sometimes a song breaks out again. Nobody complains.

Join Us
Always wanted to sing in a male voice choir?

Now is your moment.

You do not need to be Welsh.
You do not need to read music.

Our Musical Director will run through a few scales to find your section. Tenor. Baritone. Bass. Then you are in.

We rehearse Wednesdays, 7 to 9 pm, at the London Welsh Centre. Afterwards, we stay for a drink and a chat.

Come along one evening. See how it feels.

From a Member
“Our values are based on enjoying Welsh choral music, and beyond, at the highest standard, in an atmosphere of genuine friendship and support. Sharing it with communities near and far is special. Singing in Welsh brings me back to my roots and fills me with joy and hiraeth.”
— Geoff Rogers

It is about the music.
The friendships.
The sharing.

And something more that you only understand once you stand in the middle of it and breathe in before the first note.

Contact us and join us one Wednesday evening.
