Helen of Troy Bar Review - 5 July 2025
I dropped by Helen of Troy Bar at 20 Hanway Street, Soho, on Saturday, 5 July 2025, to check it out for the upcoming "Cocksuckers Blues Night" on Friday, 11 July, featuring Neil from Freak Elite and Tim Briffa from My Drug Hell spinning classic rock. I’m excited to report that this place is spot-on for a top night out!

Ben at the door greeted me with a warm smile, instantly setting a welcoming tone. Entry was free, a rare treat in Soho’s pricey scene. The upstairs bar radiates a sultry, Grecian vibe with plush velvet seats, dim lighting, and mythological accents—ideal for a rock and roll event.

The Spanish bartender, Lily, wowed me with her flawless English and skilful drink mixing.

The DJs played an energetic rock and roll mix, keeping the vibe lively without overpowering conversation. The upstairs and basement bars were buzzing, offering Plenty of space to soak in the atmosphere until closing at 2 AM.

I’m buzzing for Cocksuckers Blues Night here. The staff’s warmth, draft beers, bottled drinks, and rock-ready ambience make Helen of Troy the perfect spot for Neil and Tim to deliver their classic rock magic. If you’re after great tunes, top-notch cocktails, and a genuine Soho welcome, this bar nails it. Can’t wait for Friday!
