Steve Dior and Barry Jones Reunite for Album Recording and Exclusive London Gig
London Recording Session
London, July 2025 – Punk rock legend Steve Dior has reunited with lifelong friend and collaborator Barry Jones for a high-energy recording session with the iconic London Cowboys. Jones flew in from Los Angeles to join Dior in a London studio, where the duo is crafting a new album that already features nine completed tracks out of a potential 22. With just six days before Dior departs for Mexico, their time together is charged with urgency and the raw, sleazy rock ‘n’ roll spirit that defines their legacy.

Steve Dior: A Punk Legend’s Journey
Born in Ladbroke Grove in 1958, Steve Dior’s life is a testament to punk’s defiant spirit. From his early days rejecting a privileged upbringing to chasing rock ‘n’ roll, Dior has left an indelible mark on the music world. His career began in 1975 with Lipstick Traces, alongside Mick Jones (pre-The Clash) and Honest John Plain (The Boys). By 1976, he was a key figure in London’s punk explosion, forming The Idols with Barry Jones after their chaotic stint in The Quickspurts, and collaborating with Chrissie Hynde and Keith Levene.

1979 Dior joined Sid Sings, performing with Sid Vicious, Paul Cook, Steve Jones, and New York Dolls legends Arthur Kane and Jerry Nolan. In the 1980s, he transformed The Idols into The London Cowboys, blending punk, rockabilly, and glam. Their albums Animal Pleasure (1982) and Tall in the Saddle (1984) remain cult classics. Dior’s collaborations continued with London 86 alongside Gerry Laffy and Glen Matlock, and in 1993, he formed Filthy Lucre with L.A. Guns’ Phil Lewis, tearing through America’s dive bars.

By 2006, Dior was back in London, forming The Delinquents, later launching The Steve Dior Band in 2013. Their debut album, Songs for the Wicked (2016), produced by David M. Allen, delivered 11 unapologetic rock tracks. Off stage, Dior battled heroin addiction, a struggle that tested his bond with his son, Jez Dior, now a respected hip-hop artist. By 2018, Dior had moved to Ecuador and Mexico, achieving sobriety and penning new music and a memoir.

Back in London: 2025
In May 2025, Dior returned to London, reigniting his punk roots. His reunion with Barry Jones and the London Cowboys signals a whole new chapter, while the upcoming gig at the Stewart Arms promises to capture the raw energy of his career. X posts from @SexPistolsExp and @magicaltime123 are exciting, hyping the event and Dior’s Mexico days.

Don’t miss this chance to witness a rock ‘n’ roll survivor in action. Join Steve Dior, the London Cowboys, and special guests for an unforgettable night of live music on 26 July 2025 at the Stewart Arms.
